ATLANTA, GA (WXIX) - Bengals pro bowl tight end Tyler Eifert was carted off in the third quarter of the Bengals' 37-36 win in Atlanta after suffering a gruesome injury to his right ankle on Sunday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Eifert broke his ankle and needed to have season-ending surgery.
Eifert had four catches for 38 yards in the first half and recorded his first touchdown since the 2016 season.
The tight end tweeted a picture of his ankle wrapped in a cast after having surgery Monday night.
Eifert seemed to remain positive tweeting “at least my end zone celebration was fun!” promising Bengals fans he will be back.
