CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - In the off chance you’ve been living under a rock, this should catch you up: FC Cincinnati is now a Major League Soccer team, the squad’s inaugural MLS season begins in March, and the 2019 schedule has officially dropped.
FC Cincinnati will start its season with two games on the road before taking on Portland at home on March 17 at 5 p.m. The team will continue to play at the University of Cincinnati until the completion of the oft-discussed soccer-specific stadium in the West End.
For those curious about the potential for a budding rivalry between Cincinnati and the Columbus Crew, the orange and blue will travel up Interstate 71 -- past the “Hell is real” sign -- to take on Columbus on Aug. 10. FC Cincy hosts the Crew at home a couple of weeks later on Aug. 25.
Another home game of note is slated for Sept. 18, when Cincinnati hosts the defending MLS champion Atlanta United FC.
