FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin on Thursday told a small group of reporters that he plans to file paperwork for his re-election by the Jan. 29 deadline.
He made that announcement in a closed-door meeting with selected media outlets.
WAVE 3 News was denied access to that meeting, which a person blocking the door said was for “small ... community newspapers.”
The Courier-Journal, the Lexington Herald-Leader and the Associated Press were all blocked from the meeting, but the Cincinnati Enquirer, whose circulation includes readers in northern Kentucky, made the cut.
Its reporter tweeted Bevin’s statement about his re-election bid.
