CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for most of the counties surrounding Cincinnati.
The warning will be in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday. Snowfall totals could reach 5 inches, or a bit more in the Tri-State, especially from the latitude of Cincinnati northward.
To the south of the city warm air drawn northward by the storm will cause snow to change to a mix of rain and snow and then during afternoon and early evening to rain (this will take place about 30 miles south of downtown). The rain will melt most of to all of the snow in places, resulting it wet roads south of the city.
In the area immediately surrounding Cincinnati the precipitation will be mostly snow with small amounts of rain mixed in. Farther north the precipitation will be all snow and the greatest accumulation totals will be measured there.
The snow will taper off and end Sunday, but a few flurries could linger into Monday morning. Monday morning untreated roads in rural and suburban areas may experience re-freezing and icy patches.
