Winter Storm Warnings, Advisories in effect for Tri-State

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories are in effect for much of the Tri-State as Winter Storm Gia makes its way across the area.

The Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday. Three to six inches of heavy snow is expected.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for these counties:

Indiana

  • Dearborn
  • Franklin
  • Ohio
  • Ripley
  • Switzerland
  • Union

Kentucky

  • Boone
  • Campbell
  • Kenton

Ohio

  • Adams
  • Brown
  • Butler
  • Clermont
  • Clinton
  • Hamilton
  • Highland
  • Warren

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for these counties:

Kentucky

  • Bracken
  • Gallatin
  • Grant
  • Mason
  • Owen
  • Pendelton
  • Robertson

The Winter Weather Advisory could lead to two to four inches of snow by Sunday morning and also a rain snow mix.

Rain in the afternoon and evening could turn into ice by Sunday morning.

Sunday, snow will continue into the morning but taper off by the afternoon and temperatures will increase into the mid 30s.

Some cities issued a Snow Emergency Friday and Saturday in preparation for the winter weather.

The snowfall caused many churches and schools to cancel services and classes Saturday as well.
