Western High School evacuated after Mace sprayed, students treated on scene

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Western Hills High School was evacuated for about 30 minutes when a student sprayed Mace in a hallway Friday morning, Cincinnati police said.

Officers were called to the Ferguson Road school shortly after 8:30 a.m. Police at the scene reported one student was under arrest.

“Within the last hour there was a brief altercation between three Western Hills High School students,” said police spokesman, Lt. Steve Saunders.

"One of the students sprayed two students with Mace causing a minor reaction. As a precaution Western Hills High School was temporarily evacuated to ensure no other students were affected.

“The students who were affected have been treated by Cincinnati Fire at the scene. Students are being let back into the school currently. The students involved in the altercation are being addressed by the School Resource Officers and school administrators.”
