Suspect pleads ‘not guilty’ to 4 charges, bond set at $1M in death of Clearcreek Officer

Driver indicted for OVI crash that killed off-duty officer

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A suspect pleaded ‘not guilty’ Monday morning to all four charges in the death of an off-duty Clearcreek officer.

Justin Watts, 31, was charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of operation while under the influence.

Officers say on Jan. 26, Officer Jerrid Lee was on his way to the gym on Ohio 125 when he was hit by Watts’ 2006 GMC Envoy. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.

Court documents show Watts’ bond is set at $1 million.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 20 at 8 a.m.
