Man charged with murder, tampering in Wilmington woman’s shooting death
James Carver, 40, was arrested in Dayton Thursday evening.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A person has been charged in the shooting death of a Wilmington woman.

James Carver, 40, was recently booked in the Montgomery County Jail. Officers arrested him in Dayton late Thursday.

The Highland County Sheriff’s Office asked for help finding Carver, who has distinctive facial tattoos, after 33-year-old Heather Camp was fatally shot Tuesday.

Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera said Camp was taken to the Adena Greenfield Medical Center on Tuesday around 5 a.m. with a gunshot wound to her chest. She died at the hospital.

The Greenfield Police Department is investigating the case as a homicide.

Carver has been charged with murder in the Hillsboro Municipal Court and will be arraigned Feb. 25.

He has also been charged in the Highland County Court with tampering with evidence.

Authorities say he was on parole in Missouri at the time of this incident.
