Police: Driver who struck, killed pedestrian in Symmes Twp. arrested

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says they have arrested a who they say struck and killed a pedestrian in Symmes Township on Tuesday.

Christopher Mullins, 27, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, according to the sheriff’s office.

Mullilns was driving a 2016 Ford Mustang eastbound on Humphrey Road approaching the intersection with Pinto Court.

Mary Lahti-White, 77, was crossing Humphrey Road in a marked crosswalk.

The sheriff’s office says Mullins didn’t see her in the crosswalk and struck her with his vehicle.

Lahti-White was pronounced dead at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.

Mullins was not hurt.

Speed, alcohol and/or drugs are not factors in the crash, sheriff’s officials said.

The incident remains under investigation.
