COLD SPRING, KY. (FOX19) - The southbound lanes of the AA Highway are open again after a fatal crash closed them for several hours overnight, Campbell County dispatchers said.

One person died and three others were hospitalized in a crash on the highway at the intersection of Rocky View Drive at 9:42 p.m. Sunday, Cold Spring police said in a news release.

It appears a vehicle attempting to make a left hand turn from Rocky View Drive onto northbound AA Highway pulled out in front of a cargo van heading southbound on the AA Highway, according to police.

The van struck the vehicle’s driver side, killing the vehicle’s driver at the scene, the news release states.

Two passengers in the vehicle were taken to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, including one with life threatening injuries, according to police. The second passenger suffered serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the van was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Further information will be provided upon proper notification of the deceased person’s family, they said.
