UNION, KY (FOX19) - The Boone County coroner's office says the deaths of a former mayor of Union and his wife were homicides.

Autopsies conducted on Warren and Madge Moore conclude they both died of gunshot wouunds to the head. Madge was shot once and Warren was shot twice.

Police say the caliber and type of weapon are not known; however, a handgun was recovered from the Moore household and was sent to the lab for analysis.

The couple was found Friday night in their home in the 10000 block of Indian Hill Drive. Police say they have not narrowed their investigation to one suspect or motive.

The couple's son, Michael Moore, 39, was also shot, and remains in the hospital. He is a former deputy at the Warren County Sheriff's Office.

Warren Moore served Union, a town of about 3,500, for 27 years as commissioner, mayor and administrator. City officials are planning a tribute to him later in the year.
