U.S. Marine Corps officials say Adrien E. Augustin, 20, of Covington, collapsed after completing his final physical fitness test Monday morning. Medical officials on the scene administered CPR before Augustin was transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Augustin was a 2007 graduate of Newport High School, where he played football.

He was pronounced dead at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of death.

Visitation for Augustin will be Tuesday August 25, 2009 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Covington. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 26 at noon at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North Chapel in Williamstown.
