OWEN COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating an accident that killed a firefighter heading to the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
A short time after 12:30am, 60-year-old Terry Sharon was in a fire truck responding to the scene of a motor vehicle accident. He was traveling east on Sawbridge Road when he lost control of the vehicle, went 150 feet off the roadway and collided with an unoccupied fifth wheel camper trailer.
Sharon was transported to the New Horizons Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Terry Sharon was a volunteer firefighter for the Monterey Fire Department. Officials say that he suffered a medical emergency in the incident.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
