Accident involving train and semi truck in Richwood

RICHWOOD, KY (FOX19) - Boone County Sheriffs are in the scene of accident involving a semi truck and a train Wednesday afternoon.

At short time after 3:00pm, officials say that a Norfolk Southern railroad train heading north and semi truck hauling muffin dough collided  on Shoreland Drive near where it intersects with Dixie Highway.

40-year-old babic Smail of Iowa was drivign the semi for Zis Transport out Independence hauling muffin batter. The semi just crossed over the railroad tracks when he stopped  near the intersection of Dixie Highway, leaving the trailer blocking the tracks. Thats when the train engine ripped the back of the trialer off.  

Luckily, there are no injuries reported. Traffic on Shoreland and Dixie is flowing fine. Officials are now cleaning up the area and investigating the incident.
