CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Bengals were given an extra 24 hours to sell out Sundays game against the Ravens before it is blacked out.
The Bengals currently have a franchise-record streak of 48 consecutive sellouts for regular-season and postseason games.
NFL policy sets a deadline of 72 hours ahead of kick-off (or 1 p.m. Thursday) for the game to be sold out in time for live television coverage in the Bengals home market, including Cincinnati, Dayton and Lexington, Ky. The extension means the Bengals will be given until 1 p.m. Friday.
"We still have approximately 3000 tickets to sell, so it's by no means assured we can avert a blackout," said Andrew Brown, Bengals ticket sales manager. "But we are pleased to have the chance for some great closing sales to keep our sellout streak alive."
The Bengals have not had a regular-season or postseason game blacked out for local television since Nov. 9, 2003.
To purchase tickets, fans may call the Bengals ticket hotline at 866-621-tdtd (8383), which will be open every day this week from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. or visit www.ticketmaster.com
