Local deaf teacher headed to Vatican to present at upcoming conference

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A local teacher heads to Rome Friday to meet the Pope, and emphasize the importance of the Church working with deaf people.

Maryann Barth, Assistant Principal at St. Rita School for the Deaf, will give a speech on "The Psychological World of Deaf People" at a Vatican conference focusing on the role of the deaf in the church.

While at the Vatican, Barth will have the opportunity to meet with Pope Benedict XVI.
