WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) - Police have released the name of a man who died in a weekend fire in Westwood.
Gary Thompson, 47, died Saturday morning in an apartment fire in the 2500 block of Westwood Northern Boulevard.
Thompson's 15-year-old son was taken to Shriner's Burn Hospital. His name has not been released.
When crews arrived at the fire around 7 a.m. Saturday morning, they found heavy smoke and fire on the second floor of the building. A second alarm was called out for more assistance.
The blaze was put out quickly, but fire crews found Thompson dead inside the apartment. .
The cause has not yet be determined and damages is estimated to be at $20,000.
