HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY (FOX19) - More than a hundred people turned out for a 'Take Back the Night' rally Thursday.
The rally, aimed at raising awareness of gender-based violence, started with a candle-lit march from the Bank of Kentucky Center to the NKU Student Union.
Organizers held a moment of silence for those who have lost their lives to violence, speakers talked about ending gender-based violence, and victims of violence shared their stories.
The event was sponsored by an NKU Gender and Communication class and NKU Housing, through a donation from Catholic Health Initiatives Northern Kentucky Mission team.
