Over 20,000 homes without power in Tri-State

Posted: Updated:

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Duke Energy is reporting that power is beginning to be restored in Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana.

After a high of 37,590 outages on Tuesday night, the company is still working to restore power to thousands of homes.

The ice that caused the mass power loss has moved out of the area, however a Wind Advisory remains in effect for the Tri-State from Wednesday morning until 6 p.m. Wednesday night. Winds will gust Wednesday morning and early afternoon between 45 and 50 mph, which could make clean-up efforts difficult.

Over 10,000 homes are still without power in the area. Butler County, Ohio has the most remaining homes without power with over 5,000. Warren County, Clermont County, and Hamilton County, Ohio also have thousands of homes left that need power.

Crews are working on restoring power to those who are affected. The latest on power outages can be found at Duke Energy's website.
