DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Congressman Mike Turner and other Dayton-area politicians have sent a letter to President Barack Obama saying the city's mayor doesn't speak for the region in her offer to shelter some of the immigrant children flooding across the U.S. border. The Dayton Daily News reports they claim the region doesn't have the resources to deal with the influx.

FINDLAY, Ohio (AP) - Hancock County authorities have identified one of the two victims in a weekend plane crash near Findlay. Ralf Bronnenmeier of Bluffton was piloting the single-engine Lancair IV-P that crashed yesterday. Authorities have not released the identity of the female passenger on the plane.

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - A bumper corn crop in Ohio this year is translating into lower prices for shoppers. A federal agriculture statistician tells the Dayton Daily News per-bushel corn prices have dropped 38 percent since last July. Soybeans and wheat prices also are down.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State University this coming weekend plans to open a new emergency department, with officials saying the facility and procedural changes will help reduce patient wait times. The Columbus Dispatch reports waits have been averaging more than six hours for ER care. The changes will also eliminate the use of hallway beds.
