CINCINNATI (AP) - Authorities say a Hamilton County sheriff's deputy was injured while he was on patrol in southwest Ohio. The sheriff says Deputy Andrew Helsinger was driving in Anderson Township, when the driver's door of his police cruiser was hit by a Jeep Wrangler heading north. Helsinger was taken to a hospital and listed in good condition.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - The University of Toledo says it's forming a group to help deal with algae and toxins in Lake Erie. The group will act as a resource and provide research information on the lake's water quality. Last month, Toledo was forced to issue a do-not-drink advisory for 400,000 people because of the toxins.

WOOSTER, Ohio (AP) - A 49-year-old northern Ohio man has been killed in a golf cart accident. Authorities say Robert Moore was in a golf cart yesterday that another man was driving when the cart went off the road, rolled over an embankment and overturned. All three people in the cart were thrown out. Authorities say Moore was killed.

UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) - Officials in a northwestern Ohio county say they're moving forward with plans to give the county's historic courthouse a $2.25 million face lift. Wyandot County has signed a contract with a company to do the work. The 1899 courthouse also was featured in scenes of the movie "The Shawshank Redemption."
