As weekend anchor, I enjoy giving you the news RIGHT NOW! Since I joined the FOX19 crew in 1996, I've anchored "First Look", "19 in the Morning", and now the weekends of the Ten o'clock News. In addition, I do my best to keep my finger on the pulse of whatever is popular, fun, and hot in the Tri-State with "What's Hot With Regina." All things education are spotlighted in "Making the Grade with Regina Russo", I explore current events through FOX19's 1/2 hour public affairs program, "Cincinnati Matters." and Mommy Memos with Regina Russo, is a weekly parenting feature.
After graduating from Purdue University, my broadcast career began in radio in my hometown of Detroit, Michigan. I also worked in Grand Rapids at a local news/talk station before moving to Lansing to try a little television. Soon Cincinnati came calling, and the rest is history.
I am the past president of the National Association of Black Journalists/Cincinnati Chapter, past board member,Society of Professional Journalists/Cincinnati and board member for STOPS AIDS/Cincinnati.
In January of 2005, for the second year in a row I was recognized as one of "Who's Who in Black Cincinnati's" Most Influential. I've been honored to receive seven Associated Press and National Association of Broadcasters awards, as well as recognition by the National Council of Negro Women as one of Ohio's "Women In The Media". In the Fall of 2000, I was selected to study at the Poynter Media Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida.
I've been profiled in Ebony Magazine, Cincinnati Magazine, Cincinnati Enquirer and Cincinnati Herald. I had a wonderful experience making a guest appearance in THE LEARNING CHANNEL'S reality series "PERFECT PROPOSAL."
My husband, two sons and I love making our home here in the Queen City.
