Dr Seuss Artwork Stolen From Symmes Township

(Symmes Township, Oh) -- Hamilton County Sheriff's Officers are looking for suspects in a burglary that grabbed several pieces of Dr. Seuss artwork.

Burglars took the paintings and figurines on Monday between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from a residence in the 11500 block of Snider Road in Symmes Township.  The items are valued at $90,000.00.

Besides the Dr. Seuss artwork, other items taken were a six inch rock carving of a red and tan cardinal, five inch Ivory Vase and lid, carved ivory ball on a pedestal, lapis octopus rock carving, and jade rock carving of a crane on a rock.

The burglars also grabbed several pieces of jewelry.  They are listed as 1.75 carat round cut diamond ring, yellow gold bow setting; sapphire ring, yellow gold bow setting; Chatham emerald ring with emerald cut diamonds; oval yellow gold Jade ring; yellow gold ruby ring, small stones in V-shape; platinum emerald ring, two small emeralds; 18 carat gold chain, 18" length; ladies 14 carat emerald diamond ring; 14 carat yellow gold ring with solitaire diamond.

The Sheriff's office says that there was no sign of forced entry into the residence, but a second story sliding door was unlocked.
