The "Meter Feeding Granny" has passed on but if the "Meter Man" gets his way, Sylvia Stayton will be remembered by everyone who parks on the street in Cincinnati.
Troy Griffin, better known as "Meter Man, is in the Tri-State to mark the arrest of Stayton ten years ago as she was dropping money into meters that were about to expire.
Meter Man, in his superhero garb with an "M" on his chest, was inspired by Stayton and her story which eventually led the Ohio state house to pass a bill allowing meter pluggers protection from arrest.
Griffin said Stayton's spirit and tenacity moved him to act.
Griffin as Meter Man spoke to the Cincinnati City Council on Tuesday to urge council to declare every October 24th as "Sylvia Stayton Random Acts of Kindness Day" where all meters in the city would be free.
