(UNION TOWNSHIP, OH) -- Back from their latest trip to the Capitol, Matt Maupin's parents say they have the most detailed description yet of how the soldier went missing in Iraq, but some of the news is discouraging.
Keith and Carolyn Maupin were shown a negative light in Washington D.C. The Army gave them more information than ever before about Matt's disapearance, but more than ever before, it was based on the theory that matt will not come home alive.
They couldn't share details, but the Maupins say in this their sixth trip to Washington, they got the most comprehensive information yet about Matt's capture and the people behind it. Maupin has been missing in Iraq for over three years, since his convoy came under attack in April of 2004.
But at the same time, it was a frustrating trip.
Keith Maupin says army leadership searching for Matt is looking for remains, not a living soldier.
Maupin is optimistic about new and classified approaches the army is taking to find Matt. As always, he says he will never give up the search until Matt is home.
