FRIDAY IS A FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY - HEAT ADVISORY - NOON - 7PM, AND A SEVERE TSTORM THREAT TOO
The heat index at CVG peaked at 103° today and at Lunken it peaked at 106°. Tomorrow values will be the same or higher. The actual high temperature today was 90°. Heat and humidity will combine Friday afternoon and again Saturday and Sunday afternoons for a heat index of 100° or higher. At that level persons will respiratory and circulatory ailments should decrease outdoor activity, drink plenty of fluids and wear light colored, light weight and loose fitting clothing. Above all avoid the heat when possible, stay out of the sun and take extra breaks.
In addition to the sultry air thunderstorms could be severe late Friday through late Sunday. The storms could produce damaging winds and cause flash flooding. We may have to extend the First Alert Weather Day into Saturday. Monday will be the day of transition to cooler, much less humid air on Tuesday.
