Princeton High School Mourns Loss Of Coach, Teacher

(CINCINNATI) -- The Princeton High School community is in mourning following the loss of the boys head basketball coach.

School officials say Bill Brewer, 42, was complaining of nausea Thursday afternoon. After practice and a late dinner, Brewer returned home and went to bed, where he suffered an apparent heart attack. CPR was performed and Brewer was rushed to Jewish Hospital in Kenwood. He was pronounced dead early Friday morning.

"This is a tragic loss. Bill was, more than anything, our friend and my brother.  He made everyone around him better.  Bill represented everything good in people and in education," said Scott Kaufman, Princeton Athletic Director.

The basketball team was informed this morning and grief counselors are available at the school.

Brewer was also a math teacher at the school.

Brewer coached at Princeton for three years. He was previously the coach at Roger Bacon High School, where he won the Division II state championship.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy, and three children, Katie, Abby and Maddy.
