CPS narrows superintendent search to 3

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Public School board has narrowed its search for its next superintendent down to three candidates.

David C. Estrop, of Lakewood, Ohio, is the superintendent of Lakewood City Schools; Christopher W. Hammill, of Detroit, Mich., is the assistant superintendent of Detroit Public Schools; and Mary Ronan is the current interim superintendent of CPS.

In total, 14 individuals applied for the position. Their applications were reviewed by the Community Advisory Committee, a broad-based group of community representatives who narrowed the search.

The board began its search last year for a successor to Rosa Blackwell, who retired on July 31. After determining that two finalists were not the right match, Board members decided to continue the search. Ronan has been interim since August.
