COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Officials with Covington Catholic High School say they want to ban Jeni Lee Dinkel from attending graduation festvities in May.

Dinkel is a former Hollywood make-up artist and the wife of former Bengal Tom Dinkel. She was found guilty in 2007 for raping with her son's teenage friend. As a part of her sentencing, she has to register as a sex offender for 20 years and be on probation for five years.

Dinkel told the school she did have permission from her probation officer to attend May graduation events with her family.

A letter written to Jeni Lee Dinkel by Covington Catholic principal Robert Rowe and Diocese of Covington Chancellor Margaret Schack says reads, "With the terms of your probation and the decisions and the decisions of your probation officer may govern your behavior, they do not bind Covington Catholic High School or the Diocese of Covington, which are responsible for making decisions that are in the best interests or all the graduating seniors and their families, as well as faculty and staff."

The letter continues, "After giving this matter careful consideration, we have decided that, due to the communal nature of the graduation events, there is no acceptable way of allowing you to attend without adversely affecting other families and participants. We must therefore inform you that Covington Catholic High School will not permit you to attend graduation events."

The letter also states that security guards and police have instructions to remove Dinkel if she shows up.

A response letter from Dinkel's attorney, Eric Deters, says the school is punishing Jeni Lee's son and asked for reconsideration.

Tom Dinkel and the Dinkels' son will hold a press conference Tuesday at the Drawbridge Inn in Fort Mitchell.
