Driver cited in West End school bus crash

WEST END, OH (FOX19) - An accident involving a school bus Wednesday morning at West Court and Linn in the West End sent two students to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police say there were two students, a driver and a bus monitor on the bus at the time of the accident. The bus driver hit a parked car near Elizabeth Street, and the owner of the car tried to wave her down. When he couldn't get her attention, he got in his car and followed the bus.

The students on the bus reported that the driver of the car had a gun. The bus driver then ran a stop sign and was hit by a pick up truck. The school bus overturned during the accident.

The bus was on its way to the Hope Academy. The children received minor injuries and were taken to Children's Hospital.

Police say they never found a gun at the scene.

The bus driver has been cited.
