Bank foreclosing on Widmer home

LEBANON, Ohio (AP) - A bank has filed papers seeking foreclosure on the southwest Ohio home where a man killed his wife in a bathtub drowning last year.

Attorneys for U.S. Bank have filed papers in Warren County Common Pleas Court stating that 28-year-old Ryan Widmer owes about $199,000 on the home in Hamilton Township north of Cincinnati.

The bank says the debt continues to grow with interest, late fees and other charges.

A jury on April 2 convicted Widmer of murdering his wife Sarah but acquitted him of aggravated murder. Prosecutors said he killed Sarah Widmer on Aug. 11 by forcing her head underwater.

Widmer is serving a prison term of 15 years to life. He has 30 days to dispute the validity of the bank debt.
