COLERAIN, OH (FOX19) - A woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to use a stolen identification card to take money from a bank account.

Officers were dispatched to the U.S. Bank in the 8200 block of Colerain Ave. on a report that Ashley Morton was trying to use a stolen Kentucky ID card to withdraw $2,200 from an account.

Bank employees knew there was a fraud alert on the account.

As employees were taking a long time to complete the request, Morton became suspicious and left the bank without any money.

A Colerain officer spotted her leaving the bank at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop her. A pursuit ensued and Morton crashed her vehicle at the intersection of West Galbraith and Blue Rock Road. She was caught as she tried to exit her vehicle.

Morton has been charged with failure to comply, forgery, possessing criminal tools and receiving stolen property. She also had six outstanding warrants for her arrest.
