1 convicted in Louisville shooting death

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison in the shooting death of a woman and injury to her 2-year-old daughter nearly three years ago.

James Quisenberry is one of two men convicted in the case this week. A Jefferson County judge followed the jury's recommendation, sparing Quisenberry from a possible life sentence sought by prosecutors. The Courier-Journal reports Quisenberry will be eligible for parole in 20 years.

Quisenberry and Kenneth Williams were convicted Monday in the death of Earon Harper and wounding of her daughter, Erica Hughes, who is now 5 years old. The jury recommended life without parole for Williams, who was convicted of murder and attempted murder.

Quisenberry was found guilty of second-degree manslaughter and facilitation to attempted murder.
