CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Board of education has unanimously selected Mary Ronan as the Superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools.
Ronan is a 32-year veteran of the district and has been serving as the interim Superintendent since August of 2008.
"The selection of a Superintendent is perhaps the most consequential decision that a school board can make," said Board president Eileen Cooper Reed. " We promised 14 months ago that we would not rest until we found the right leader for our students, our school system and our community. Today we are delivering that promise."
Ronan will be taking the place of former Superintendent Rosa Blackwell who retired in June of 2008.
Fox19 will update this story as more information is made available.
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Public School board will hold a press conference Thursday afternoon to announce its decision in the superintendent selection process.
The board will either announce the hire of interim superintendent Mary Ronan or continue the search.
Prior to the news conference, the school board will meet in open session to vote on a decision.
Ronan answered questions from the community on Wednesday and had a formal interview with the school board.
Ronan is the only remaining candidate for the job after the other two finalists took jobs elsewhere.
