Russian doctors discover tree in man's lung

IZHEVSK, RUSSIA (FOX NEWS) - A Russian man underwent surgery this week for suspected lung cancer, but surgeons found something incredible instead.

Instead of a tumor, they found a fir tree measuring just under two inches.

The 28-year-old smoker went to the doctor after suffering chest pains.

It's not clear how the tree got in there. He thinks maybe he inhaled a fir tree bud.

However, a botanist with Russia's Udmurt State University says that's impossible because a bud needs light, water, and a certain temperature to grow.
