Football Announces A Pair Of Schedule Changes

Rutgers and Illinois games moved for television purposes

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics, BIG EAST Conference, and ESPN released a pair of football schedule changes for the 2009 season Thursday.

The season opening Rutgers game, originally scheduled for Sept. 5 has been moved to Monday, Sept. 7 at 4 p.m., and will be televised nationally on ESPN from Rutgers Stadium.

UC's matchup with Illinois will now take place on Friday, Nov. 27 in Nippert Stadium. The kickoff will be determined later, but the game will air live on ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2.

The addition of the two nationally-televised games, gives the Bearcats a total of five entering the season. UC's game at USF on Thursday, Oct. 15 will be aired live on ESPN, the West Virginia game on Friday Nov. 13 will kickoff from Nippert Stadium at 8 p.m. on ESPN2, and the regular-season finale at Pittsburgh on Saturday, Dec. 5 is set to air on ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2 as part of the network's Championship Weekend.

2009 football season tickets went on sale March 2, with the deadline for season ticket deposits, ticket payments, UCATS pledges, and 2009 football renewals/seat improvement requests on April 25 -- the day of BEARCAT BOWL III, UC's annual Spring Football game at Nippert Stadium. Seat improvement appointments will be made in May and will continue through June. Those purchasing new season ticket will still be able to make a deposit toward 2009 season tickets throughout the summer.

The department of athletics is offering all patrons the opportunity to purchase 2009 season tickets at the current price and lock in that price for the 2010 season. Ticket purchases and new deposits can be made online at CATSTIX.com or by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX. The deposit allows fans to hold their spot in line and wait until they select their seats after May 11 to pay in full. The UC Athletics Ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and is located in Richard E. Lindner Athletics Center.

Game times and television information for UC's remaining games will be announced as soon as it becomes available. Check GoBEARCATS.com for the most up to date information regarding UC football.
