4 people killed in car accident in Carlisle

CARLISLE,KY (FOX19)-- Kentucky State Police are investigating an accident that killed 4 people,  and an unborn baby, and injured 1 Friday evening.

At 9:45pm, KSP, Carlisle Police and the Nicholas County Sheriffs, EMS and Fire responded to a 2-vehicle accident.

20-year-old William Robert Hughes was traveling northbound on Lake Road when he struck a vehicle going south driven by 53-year-old Jerome Hicks. Hughes was attempting to pass truck when he hit Hicks head on.

Hicks along with his two passengers, 19-year-old Charles Hicks and 18-year-old Mary Willcut were all pronounced dead at the scene. Willcut was also 7 months pregnant.

Police say that William Hughes was also killed inn the accident. His passenger, 20-year-old Dylan Boone was taken to UK Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

The accident is still under investigation.
