CINCINANTI (FOX19) -- The Cincinnati Pops said today that Conduction Erich Kunzel has cancer and will undergo chemotherapy soon.

In a statement released by the Pops, Kunzel said that he was recently diagnosed with pancreatic, liver and colon cancer.

On Wednesday he will be inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame.  He also is planning to conduct next weekend's Cincinnati Pops concerts at Music Hall with Sandi Patty as planned.

The Pops say Kunzel is in good spirits and will continue with all of his conducting commitments.  They are asking that everyone keep the conductor and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
