Winners announced in Flying Pig Marathon

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)-- A California man and Texas woman take first place honors in the 11th annual Flying Pig Marathon in Downtown Cincinnati on Sunday.

27-year-old Sergio Reyes won the race with a time of 2 hours, 20 minutes, and 37 seconds. He was 12 seconds from beating the 2006 record set by Cecil Franke. Reyes is from Palmdale, California.

The second place winner in the men's marathon was 27-year-old Tim Parr of Gunnison Colorado. Local runner, 27-year-old Adam Thomas of West Chester was third place.

The women's marathon was won by 29-year-old Autumn Ray from Galveston, Texas. This was her first Pig marathon and finished at 2 hours, 52 minutes and 23 seconds. this was her fourth marathon win.

38-year-old Tanya Thatcher from Mason came in second place. Thatcher has also won the PNC half marathon in 2006 and ran in the Columbus marathon this year.

Third place in the women's marathon=on was 33-year-old Mindy Leisure from Kettering. Leisure was the 2-time winner of the AirForce half marathon.

Officials say that the Flying pip reported a record number of participants this year. 16,762 ran in either the full marathon, the half marathon, or the city dash 4-peron relay. A total of 22,285 ran This weekend.
