DAYTON, KY (FOX19) - A husband is the prime suspect in the murder of a Dayton woman.

Investigators were called just after 3:30 p.m. on Monday to the 900 block of Maple. They found a woman dead in a second floor bedroom, and found her husband overdosed on drugs.

"It was domestic, it just turned bad," said Dayton Police Chief James Werner.

Police have not said how the woman died, but did say her husband is the suspect in her death.

"The suspect, one he's released from the hospital, will be charged and interviewed in reference to this crime," said Werner.

Police say the couple had two young children, both of whom are staying with grandparents.

"It makes you very sick to your stomach. You just don't know what to think," said neighbor Hollie Dunn.

Neighbors say the murder doesn't make any sense.

"It's hard, it really is because they were good friends," said Dunn.

Dunn describes a happy couple, and an even happier family.

"You never heard any kind of arguments or spats, they, well, any problems they had, they kept hidden very well," said Dunn.
