AMELIA, OH (FOX19) - An Amelia man was arrested by Warren County Sheriff's Office detectives on Thursday afternoon and charged with Criminal Child Enticement in the case that was reported in Deerfield Township earlier this week.

Lonnie Gene Kennedy, 54, was charged in Warren County after a joint investigation involving the Warren County Sheriff's Office, the Pierce Township Police Department, and the Clermont County Sheriff's Office.

Kennedy is accused of trying to entice children at bus stops. In all of the cases, the children got away and were able to give a description to police.

Kennedy was convicted of rape in Kentucky in 1982 in a case that involved a minor. Because of that conviction, Kennedy's charge in this case is a fifth degree felony.

He was arrested in Clermont County and is being held in the Warren County Jail.
