HAMILTON, OH (FOX19)-- Hamilton Police and the ATF make two arrests during an investigation of a major drug supplier in Butler County.
Local agencies have been following a major supplier of Cocaine and Crack Cocaine in the city of Hamilton and the surrounding areas for several months. With the help of the United States District Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio, federal search warrants were served at two locations on Thursday.
The first search was at the home of 37-year-old Terrance Smiley. There, officials found 90 grams of suspected Crack Cocaine, 70 grams of suspected powder Cocaine, and four guns.
The second home that was ser ached was the residence of 35-year-old Shantay Smiley. Police say they found over two-and-a-half kilos of suspected Powder Cocaine, four additional guns and over $35,000 dollars in cash.
The two were taken into custody and are now being held at the Butler County Jail.
Terrance Smiley is charged with Possession of Crack, Possession of Cocaine, Trafficking in Drugs and Weapons Under Disability
Shantay Smiley is charged with Possession of Cocaine and Weapons under Disability.
The case has been referred to the United States Attorney's Office. The two may also face federal charges.
