CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) - A fugitive from Mississippi was arrested by federal agents in Cincinnati on Thursday night.

The suspect, Richard Lambert, is being held in the Hamilton County Jail. He is wanted for a brutal murder in which he stabbed and dismembered a man in Long Beach, Mississippi.

Lambert apparently came to the Tri-state because he has ties here. He was found hiding at a friend's apartment in Clifton.

A witness at the scene says Lambert may have been tased when marshals tried to arrest him.

He also goes by the name Jimmy Brantley.

Lambert was reported missing in Mississippi last weekend after sheriffs there listed him as the main suspect in the murder of Robert Barnes. Police say Lambert was staying at a bed and breakfast near Barnes' home. Barnes' body parts were found in a bay on Tuesday.

At one point, Lambert lived in Burlington, Ky. He was convicted in 2003 for the murder of Rebecca Ritchie. Investigators say he picked her up in Newport, killed her, then dumped her body in Petersburg back in 2001. He was released from prison in 2008.
