HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - The twin pediatricians facing multiple drug and sex-related charges will get separate trials.
Back in march, a Butler County judge ruled to separate the cases of Drs. Scott and Mark Blankenburg.
Then last month, prosecutors filed a motion to rejoin the cases, saying their charges are related.
But the judge ruled against that motion.
"There could be prejudice to one defendant or the other by the testimony of a witness or they can think one doctor did something to the other must have and these are all the reasons the court thought it would be prejudicial to rejoin them," said Jack Garretson, Scott Blankenburg's attorney.
Scott's trial will begin July 6. Mark's starts Aug. 3.
