Bank robbery suspect arrested after standoff

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Police arrested a bank robbery suspect after a standoff in Hamilton.

Scott Hester is accused of robbing the Aurgroup Bank on May 27. On Monday afternoon, police received a tip that Hester was inside a residence in the 800 block of Campbell Ave. Police surrounded the area and Hester told detectives he was armed and refused to surrender. The SWAT unit was called in and several attempts were made by SWAT negotiators for Hester to surrender, but he refused.

SWAT then deployed tear gas into the location and after a short period of time, Hester walked out with his hands raised and was taken into custody.

Hester is charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery, a gun specification, Inducing Panic and Resisting Arrest.  The Aggravated Robbery counts are for the Aurgroup Credit Union and the Ameristop that was robbed on May 24, 2009.
