Recipe from Marie Istre of La.
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/8 t. salt
1 cup sugar
2 t. vanilla
1 cup light corn syrup
1 T. flour (Karo syrup)
1 cup chopped pecans
2 T. margarine, melted
Combine eggs, syrup, margarine, salt and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl. In a small bowl make a paste with a small amount of mixture and the flour. Stir into the remaining mixture. Stir very well. Add pecans.
Pour into unbaked 9" pastry shell. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
