Blast injures worker in St. Bernard

ST. BERNARD, Ohio (AP) - A small explosion at a chemical plant in the Cincinnati area has caused a fire and sent one worker to a hospital.

It happened at the Emery Oleochemicals plant. St. Bernard Fire Captain Don Moeller says the blast happened just before midnight Monday.  The worker was taken to University Hospital.

Moeller says the man's injuries were not life threatening, and he says no other workers were in the building at the time.

Moeller says the fire was put out quickly and did minimal damage. He says the accident could have been caused by mixing hydrogen and fatty acids.
