Schedule of events for Civil Rights Game weekend in Cincinnati, May 14-16

Friday, May 14

"Baseball & The Civil Rights Movement" Roundtable Discussion, 4:00-5:30 p.m. National Underground Railroad Freedom Center
Free and open to the public. Panelists include MLB Hall of Famer and Reds legend Joe Morgan, MLB Network analyst and Reds legend Barry Larkin, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, Olympic gold medalist and tennis legend Zina Garrison and Special Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Defense/White House Liaison Michelle Jones. Harvard Law School professor Charles Ogletree will moderate.

James Hirsch, author of the bestselling biography Willie Mays: The Life, The Legend will be signing copies of his book from 4:30 to 6:30pm at the Reds HOF and from the 2nd to 4th inning at the Community Corner in the ballpark.

Saturday, May 15

MLB Beacon Awards Luncheon, 12:00 P.M. – Duke Energy Convention Center Registration opens at 10:30 a.m. and doors open at 11:30 a.m. - Willie Mays (Beacon of Life), Billie Jean King (Beacon of Change) and Harry Belafonte (Beacon of Hope) will be honored. The awards recognize individuals whose lives are emblematic of the spirit of the Civil Rights Movement. Multiple Grammy winner Roberta Flack will perform at the luncheon. Former Atlanta Mayor, Congressman and United States Ambassador to the United Nations Andrew Young will deliver the keynote speech. ESPN's SportsCenter anchor Sage Steele will serve as mistress of ceremonies.

In addition to the MLB Beacon Award recipients, renowned recording artist and actress Lena Horne and Rachel Robinson, widow of Jackie and founder of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, will be honored. There will also be a special tribute to the members of the sit-in at the Greensboro, NC Woolworth lunch counter in 1960.

Net proceeds from the MLB Beacon Awards Luncheon will benefit the Reds Community Fund, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and Major League Baseball Urban Youth Foundation.

Youth Summit and MLB "Wanna Play?", 12:00-7:00 P.M. – Fountain Square Free and open to the public. Q&A session will begin at 2:30 p.m. with MLB Network analyst and former All-Star Harold Reynolds, MLB Network analyst and Reds legend Barry Larkin, teen sax sensation BK Jackson, Reds stars Brandon Phillips and Joey Votto, Cardinals 3B Felipe Lopez and West Point graduate and former Reds minor leaguer Capt. Josh Holden.

Delta Youth Baseball March, 5:00 p.m. – Fountain Square Over 2,000 kids, coaches, community partners and sponsors will march from Fountain Square to Great American Ball Park.

Reds vs. Cardinals, 7:10 P.M. – Chuck Harmon Mesh Jersey Giveaway
Both teams will be wearing 1947 throwback uniforms recognizing Jackie Robinson's rookie year. Multiple Grammy winner Roberta Flack and Grammy nominee and platinum recording artist Jeffrey Osborne will perform during pregame ceremonies. Sunday, May 16

Reds vs. Cardinals, 1:10 P.M. – Brandon Phillips Kids Mesh Jersey Giveaway 

Veterans of the Negro Leagues will meet with fans and sign autographs, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
