Update: Arrest made in Middletown assault

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - An arrest has been made in the assault that left a man in critical condition Friday night.

Middletown police arrested a 16-year-old  boy and charged him with Felonious Assault on Wednesday.

Police say he assaulted 54-year-old Randy Rogers on Friday. He was critically injured and taken to Miami Valley Hospital. So far there are no new updates on his condition.

Officials believe the teen acted alone in the assault.

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - A man is in the hospital after being assaulted by a group of males Friday evening.

Around 9:30pm, Middletown Police were called to the area of First Avenue and Leibee Street for a report of an assault.

Police discovered that a 54-year-old man was assaulted by several individuals. He was taken to Atrium Medical Center, then flown to Miami Valley Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The suspects are described as 4-5 black males, possibly juveniles. One of them was wearing no shirt and blue jeans.

Police say that there may have been a verbal altercation between the victim and the males before the assault.
