MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - An 11-year-old boy went for a ride over the weekend after an inflatable obstacle course he was playing in came loose from the ground.
It happened during a softball tournament Goldman Park just before 4 p.m.
Tyler Maloney, 11, was helping kids go down the inflatable slide when it suddenly floated up in the air approximately 40 feet, going up and over the batting cages. Tyler inside the course when it happened, but was not seriously injured.
Tyler's mom, Melissa, went running over when she saw the slide fly up in the air with Tyler dangling from a rope he grabbed on to.
"I was thinking, 'If I let go of this net, I'm gonna die,'" said Tyler.
A woman on the ground suffered a minor injury when the course fell on her, and 10-year-old girl suffered an abrasion from a strap on the course.
The owner of the ride said it had been inspected the day before and it was secured to the ground. Proper permits were in place, but the Ohio Department of Agriculture is investigating.
