OAKLEY, OH (FOX19) - Emergency crews evacuated a building Wednesday afternoon after a threat of a chemical explosion.

The Cast- Fab building in the 3400 block of Forrer Street was evacuated around 3 p.m.

When police and fire crews arrived, one of the tanks containing 150 gallons of acid had overheated. The acid is used in the foundry process.

Crews had to cool the tanks down so they could dilute the acid.

There were no reports of injuries.

Cast-Fab is a supplier of iron castings, patterns, steel-welded fabrications and precision sheet metal components according to their website.
